08-25-1966 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING August 25, 1966 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Planning and. Zoning Board was held at 7:30 P. M. , August 25, 1966, at the Village Hall with the following members present: Mr. M. B. Arnold Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr. Mr. Emrys C. Harris Absent: Mr. Thomas B. Baden, Chairman Mr, Donald. W. Hoefle Mr. William R. Bradford, Building and Zoning Director, was also present. In the absence of Mr. Baden, Mr. Moyer was asked to take the chair. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as written by motion made by Mr. Arnold, seconded by Mr. Harris and passed unanimously: (1) Mr. Paul Baron, who is constructing a home at 9125 N. Bayshore Drive, Lot C, Watersedge Sub. , requested permission to construct a 9 ft. high wing wall out 7 ft. from the building line, 3 ft. from the lot line on the north side of the house at the entry. The purpose of the wall is to attract attention to the entry which is at the side of the house. After some discussion Mr. Harris moved that permit be granted. Motion was seconded by Mr. Moyer and. passed 2/1 with Mr. Arnold dissenting as he didn't think a 9 ft. wall should be permitted. (2) Mr. and Mrs. Ettman of 357 N. E. 92nd St. , Lot 19 and. 20, Block 47, requested permit to construct a trellis covered patio at front entry of residence with the trellis and trellis walls to be constructed. of wood. After review of the plan Mr. Harris moved that it be approved. Motion was seconded by Mr. Moyer and. passed. 2/1 with Mr. A.rnold. dissenting who stated that he is not in favor of that type of woodconstruc- tion and thought it violates the ordinance, also that he thought this should go to the Council before a permit is issued. (3) A request was made by the owner of the Holly House Motel, 9101 Biscayne Blvd. , for permit to construct a swimming pool in the front yard of the motel. Mr. Arnold. moved that the plan as submitted be approved subject to all pool requirements. Mr. Harris seconded the motion with • • -2 - an amendment that the plan come back to the Board before permit is issued in order that the Board can review anything related to a shield, fence or hedge between the pool and. the Boulevard. Mr. Arnold. accepted the amendment and it was passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P. M. Clerk 7 8/25/66
