01-28-1965 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING January 28, 1965 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Planning and Zoning Board was held at 7:30 P.M. , January 28, 1965, at the Village Hall, with the following members present: Mr. Emrys C. Harris, Chairman Mr. M. B. Arnold Mr. Thomas B. Baden Absent: Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr. Mr. Donald W. Hoefle Mr. William R. Bradford, Building and Zoning Director, was also present. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as written by motion made by Mr. Baden, seconded by Mr. Arnold and passed unanimously. (1) Plans were presented for a house to be built on Lots 1 and 2, Block 5, Navarro Sub. by Mr. John Looby. This is a 50 ft. plot on the southwest corner of 100th St. and Miami Ave. A plot plan for this home had previousljr been approved. After a review of the plans, Mr. Baden moved that the plans as submitted be recommended for approval to the Council. Motion was seconded by Mr. Arnold and passed unanimously. (2) A request was made by Mr. Morrison, 307 N. E. 95th St., for permit to make alterations to a garage with sleeping rooms by adding a kitchenette. Inasmuch as this is against the zoning ordinance Mr. Arnold moved that the request be denied as far as the kitchen is concerned. Motion was seconded by Mr. Baden and passed unanimously. (3) Landscaping plans were presented for improving the 100 ft. parking lot west of the Tropical C:aieteiia. on 99th St. The plan showed a louvred fence to be constructed along 99th St. and the western side of the lot but not along the alley on the north side of the lot. Some discussion followed as to the intent of the ordinance in regard to a parking lot that abuts an alley. Mr. Arnold moved that it be approved providing the hedge planting be changed to a Jasmine hedge. Motion was seconded by Mr. Baden and passed 2/1 with Mr. Harris dissenting. Mr. Harris stated he had no objection to the overall plan and the change to a Jasmine hedge but that he personally could not vote for it until the residents of Lots 22 and 23 are given a screening from this lot with either fencing or bushes • on the north end. //G Clerk -2- The meeting adjourned at 8:20 P.
