PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
November 12, 1964
A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Planning and
Zoning Board was held at 7:30 P.M., November 12, 1964, at the Village Hall,
with the following members present:
Mr. Emrys C. Harris, Chairman
Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr.
Mr. Donald W. Hoefle
Absent: Mr.. M. B. Arnold
Mr. Thomas B. Baden
Mr. William R. Bradford, Building and Zoning Director, was also
present.
Minutes of the last meeting were approved as written by motion
made by Mr. Moyer, seconded by Mr. Hoefle and passed unanimously.
(1) A request was made by Mr. Charles Winnie, 39 N. W. 101st St.,
for permit to build a carport and attach it to a non -conforming garage. After
a review of the plans, Mr. Hoefle moved that the variance be granted. Motion
was seconded by Mr. Moyer and passed unanimously.
(2) A review was made of the action taken by the Board on June
11, 1964 concerning the work done by Mr. C. O. Barnard, 117 N. E. 109th St.,
without permit. The Building Inspector reported that the requirements had not
been met and no permit issued. Mr. Hoefle moved that this applicant be given
30 days to comply with the terms of the action taken by the Planning Board on
June 11, 1964 or the matter will be turned over the to the Village Attorney for
appropriate action. Motion was seconded by Mr. Moyer and passed unanimously.
(3) A request was made by Mrs. E. L. Hannon, 10505 N. E. 3rd Ct. ,
to close in`her garage. This is a 50 ft. lot and would have no offstreet parking
if the garage were made into a living area. Mr. Moyer moved that this request
be denied. Motion was seconded by Mr. Hoefle and passed unanimously.
Mr. Harris discussed the problem of making sure special require-
ments made by the Planning Board on proposed building plans, were fully
complied with before a certificate of occupancy is issued and asked the Building
Inspector to set up some method of procedure to accomplish this.
