05-23-1963 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING May 23, 1963 A regular meeting of the Miami. Shores Village Planning and Zoning Board was held at 7:30 P.M. , May 23, 1963, at the Village Hall, with the following members present: Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr., Chairman Mr. Emrys C. Harris Mr. Thomas B. Baden Absent: Mr. Marion B. Arnold Mr. Charles H. Markel, Building -and Zoning Director, was also present. Minutes of the last meeting were approved as written by motion made by Mr. Harris, seconded by Mr. Baden and passed unanimously. (1) A request for permit was made by Mr. Fred Rouse, 1441 N. E. 102nd St., to construct an orchid house in the side yard setback. In view of the fact that there is a pool in the rear yard and no room for this structure in the rear yard, Mr. Harris moved that the variance be approved providing Mr. Rouse can furnish a letter from the neighbors immediately to the east stating that they have no objection to this setback variance. Motion was seconded by Mr. Baden and passed unanimously. (2) A flagpole was proposed for the U.S. F. & G. building at 9190 Biscayne Blvd. , to be about 46 ft. high. Upon motion made by Mr. Baden, seconded by Mr. Harris and passed, approval was granted for the flagpole as designed. (3) Approval was also given for the construction of a flagpole at the Christian Church, 10150 N. E. 2nd Ave., by motion made by Mr. ā€˛Harris, seconded by. Mr. Baden and passed unanimously. (4) A permit was requested by Mr. M. B. Arnold for the con- struction of an orchid house in the rear yard at 504 N. E. 101st St. Mr. Harris moved that it be approved subject to the set back requirements being met. Motion was seconded by Mr. Baden and passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
