PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
October 25, 1962
A regular meeting of the Miami. Shores Village Planning and Zoning
Board was held at 7:30 P. M. , October 25, 1962, at the Village Hall, with
the following members present:
Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr. , Chairman
Mr. Elwood Jones
Mr. Thomas B. Baden
Absent: Mr. Marion. B. Arnold
Mr. Emrys C. Harris
Mr. Charles H. Markel, Building and Zoning Director, and Mr.
William Bradford, Assistant Director, were also present.
Minutes of the last meeting were approved as written by motion
made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Baden and passed unanimously.
(1) A request was made for permit to build on Lot 1, Block 94,
a 52 ft. lot, by the owner, Mr. Carl Johnson and the Building Inspector also
requested that the Board review the plans because of the unusual design.
After some discussion of the plan of the house, the Board decided to table action
until the next meeting when it is hoped all members will be present.
(2) Mr. Charles Bradshaw and architect Irving Horsey presented
plans for two additions to the Tropical Chevrolet operation, a new office
building to be added on the north side of the present office area and a new
parts building to be constructed adjacent to the Railroad and north of 89th St.
After a review of these plans, Mr. Baden moved that permit be granted for
the office building and the new parts building subject to working plans being
submitted and approved by the Building Department. Motion was seconded
by Mr. Jones and passed unanimously.
(3) A request was made by the Solaray Sign Co. to erect a
reflecting plastic disk sign on the west side of the Biscayne Kennel Club.
These reflectors would be used to outline the dogs that are now on the side
of the building. The Board wished to consider this further and postponed
action until the next meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:25 P. M.
