PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
December 1, 1960
A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Planning and Zoning
Board was held at 7:30 P. M. , December 1, 1960 (postponed from November
24th), at the Village Hall, with the following members present:
Mr. Marion B. Arnold, Chairman
Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr.
Mr. Elwood Jones
Mr. Thomas B. Baden
Absent: Mr. Emrys C. Harris
Mr. Charles H. Markel, Building and Zoning Director and Mr.
William Bradford, Assistant Director, were also present.
Minutes of the meeting of October 27, 1960 were unanimously
approved as written by motion made by Mr. Moyer and seconded by Mr. Jones.
(1) Mr. Dan Crane presented plans for a home to be built on Lot 1,
Block 80, which borders on N. E. 99th St., 10th Ave. and Biscayne Blvd. ,
requiring Planning Board approval of setbacks when the lot fronts on three
streets. Mr. Craners plan showed a 25 ft. setback on Biscayne Blvd. , 32 ft.
on 10th Ave. and 20 ft. on 99th St. , with the entrance of the house on 99th St.
Mr. Moyer moved that these setbacks be approved. Motion was seconded
by Mr. Jones and passed unanimously .
(2) Mr. Crane also presented plans for a home to be built on Lot
12 and the east 6 ft. of 11, Block 44, a 56 ft. lot on 95th St. It was pointed
out that there is no more vacant property on either side and that Mr. Crane
will maintain the established setback of 30 ft. on the front. Mr. Jones moved
that this request be granted with the front setback to be in line with the adjoin-
ing houses. Motion was seconded by Mr. Moyer and passed unanimously.
(3) Mr. Paul Lane presented plans for a home to be built on
Lot 18, Block 17, an isolated 50 ft. lot on N. E. 98th St. between N. E. 1st
and 2nd Ave. It was pointdd out that the unattached garage of the residence
Oil the west is about 3-1/2 ft. from the lot line. Mr. Jones moved that the
Board approve this request. Motion was seconded by Mr. Mayer and passed
unanimously.
(4) Mr. R. R. Bennett requested permit to build on Lot 14, Block
101, a 50 ft. lot on 97th St. near 6th Ave. It was pointed out that the corner
lot, 13, is also vacant. Mr. Jones mored that this be approved by the Board
providing this man makes every effort possible to buy the other lot. Motion
was seconded by Mr. Baden and passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned: at 8:20 P.M.
