06-09-1960 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING June 9, 1960 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Planning and Zoning Board was held at 7:30 P. M. , June 9, 1960, at the Village Hall, with the following members present: Mr. Marion B. Arnold, Chairman Mr. Elwood Jones Mr. Gordon H. Moyer, Jr. Mr. Emrys C. Harris Absent: Col. Thomas F. Burke Mr. Charles H. Markel, Building and Zoning Director and Mr. William Bradford, Assistant Director, were also present. Minutes were then approved by motion made by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Harris and passed. Mr. Moyer asked that it be noted that he had attended the last meeting at the regular time. (1) Mr. Walter H. Schwab, 365 Grand Concourse, requested a variance for a side -yard setback, as well as, wooden construction on a Florida room addition. After some discussion, Mr. Jones moved that the Planning Board approve the variance on the side -yard setback as already established, but deny the wooden construction for the Florida room which will be approved if he adheres to the building code. Motion was seconded by Mr. Moyer and passed unanimously. (2) A directional sign for St. Rose of Lima Church was requested to be erected on 107th St. at tariffing Blvd. , approximately 2 ft. by 3 ft. in size. Mr. Harris moved that this sign be approved but if there are any complaints it will have to be removed. Motion was seconded by Mr. Jones and passed unanimously. (3) Mr. Edward N. Claughton appeared before the Board with a plan for splitting Lots 10 and 11, Block 120, so that both lots will face on 105th Street, with a 75 ft. lot on the corner and a 55 ft. lot on the alley. The Board had previously expressed general approval of facing these lots on 105th St. Mr. Harris moved that this plan be recommended for approval to the Council. Motion was seconded by • • -2- Mr. Moyer and passed unanimously. 6/9/60 (4) Additional signs were requested by the 7-11 Store, other than the pylon sign on the roof of the building; one acros s the front of the store and the other a free standing sign. Because other free-standing signs had recently been approved by the Council, Mr. Moyer moved that the Board grant request for all signs. Motion was seconded by Mr. Jones and passed 3/1 with Mr. Harris dissenting. The meeting adjourned at 8:30 P.M. Clerk APPROVED: chrren
