PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING
October 21, 1959
Following the public hearing at the Miami Shores Country
Club, the Miami. Shores Village Planning and Zoning Board convened
to handle the unfinished business that would normally have been taken
up on the following eviing, thus eliminating the regular meeting of
October 22nd.
All members of the Planning Board were present as well
as the Building Inspector and Assistant Inspector.
(1) The first item discussed was the unfinished
business of a request for a variance by Mr. John E. MacDonald,
333 N. E. 92nd St., to put an addition on his house. At the last
meeting, the Planning Board had postponed action until they had
bad an opportunity to view the location. Mr. MacDonald had since
revised his requested variance to four feet into the side setback,
instead of five feet. After discussion Mr. Ha.i rs moved that in
view of the fact that the neighbors have agreed to this in writing and
of the fact that the space is limited because of same very beautiful
trees, that this petition be recommended for approval on the basis
that it will be a one-story structure exclusively. Motion was seconded
by Col. Burke and passed by a 3/2 vote with Messrs. Jones and Moyer
dissenting.
(2) Mr. Dan Crane requested permit to build a home
on the N. W. corner of IOlst St. and Miami Ave. with a variance on the
rear setback of 1 ft. 8 in. Mr. Moyer moved that the request be
granted for a 1 ft. 8 in. variance on the rear yard setback subject to
a letter from the people just west of the property. Motion was seconded
by Mr. Jones and passed unanimously.
The meeting then adjourned.
