09-10-1959 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD MEETING September 10, 1959 A regular meeting of the Miami. Shores Village Planning and Zoning Board was held at 7:30 P. M. , September 10, 1959, at the Village Hall with the following members present: Mr. Marion B. Arnold, Chairman Mr. Elwood Jones Mr. Gordon. H. Moyer, Jr. Col. Thomas E. Burke Mr. Emrys Harris Mr. Charles H. Markel, Building & Zoning Director, Mr. William Bradford, Assistant, and the Village Manager, were also present. Mr'. Moyer moved that the Board dispense withreading of the minutes of the last regular meeting and approve. as written. Motion was seconded by Col. Burke and passed unanimously. (1) A request was made by Dr. HowardHattesen for an extension of an addition to his home, presently being constructed, that will come within 10 ft. of the rear line instead of the required 15 ft. This addition is for a work shop for remodeling or reconditioning antique automobiles. Mr. Jones moved that the request be denied due to the infringement of our zoning regulations. Motion was seconded by Mr. Harris and passed unanimously. (2) A zoning hearing was called for this meeting at the request of Mrs. Clark, real estate saleswoman, for a prospective buyer of the tract known as Shores Center Subdivision. The plan of development of this property is based on a proposed extension of the B-2 zone on Biscayne Blvd. 150 ft. north to accommodate a restaurant in conjunction with a motel and apartments in the areas so zoned. The area formerly used by the Pickin' Chicken restaurant is to be used for parking only, Noticesbad been sent out to all property owners within 500 ft. of the area of the proposed cli.ange. Seventeen people were present. After it was learned that Mrs. Clark was ill and could not attend to present the sketches and plot plan of the development, those present briefly discussed the plan. Na action was taken by the Board. It was announced that if this hearing is re -scheduled the owner of the property would join in the petition and everyone would again be notified. (3) Plans for a home to be built by American Art Homes on Lots ZO and 21, Block 124, M.S. Sub. , 45 N. W. 103rd St., drawn by C. H. Markel, were approved by motion made by Col. Burke, seconded by Mr . Moyer and passed unanimously. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 P. M. Approved: moan
