June 1r 1960. He entered serv- ice on December 3, 1952. The service was continuous and this Rill give him a service credit for pension purposes of six years. His pension will thereforeamount to 12% of the average annual salary he received during the last five years of his service. The data pertaining to= his salary are as follows: his salary was at the rate of $56. OQ per week on June 1, 1955. It was increased to $5.7.00 per week on December 22, 1955 and subsequently increased to $59.25 on August 1,- 1956, to $60.25 on December 13, 1956 and to $61.25 on December 19, 1957, which salary he still received. This makes his average annual salary amount to $3109.15 and on the basis of a pension of 12%, the annual pension will amount to $373.1G,,and the monthly pension, $31.09, the first payment to=begin. on. Shores, Florida Attention: Mr. John McIntyre, Secretary Gentlemen: RETIREMENT & PENSION PLANS December 7th 1959 Relative to your inquiry pertaining to Mr. William R. Hoffman and Mr. Will Hightower who plan to retire on December 31, 1959. I find that Mr. Hoffman will be 65 years of age as of December 31, 1959 and will have creditable service of 9 years. On this basis he will be entitled to an annuity of 18% of his average final compensation which is $3, 671.00. His pension, therefore, will amount 1x5 $660. 78 or $55.07 monthly. As to Mr. Hightower, according to the records furnished, he will be 68 years of age as of December 31, 1959 and will have a service credit of 14 years. He will, therefore, be entitled: to a pension equal to 28% of his final average salary of $3, 117.84. The annual pension therefore amounts to $873.00 and the monthly pension is $72. 75.
