PENSION BOARD MEETING - JANUARY 19, 1960
A meeting of the Pension Board was held on January 19, 1960,
3:30 P. M. , at the Village Hall. The following members/tire present:
Messrs. Claussen, Powell, McCall, Senneff, McIntyre and Mrs. Pentecost.
Mr. Louis Hirsh, actuary, was also present.
Minutes of the December 1, 1959 meeting were read and approved.
A letter of January 5, 1960 from Little River Bank and Trust out-
lining the securities they recommended purchasing for the Pension Trust
was read and approved. Motion was made by Chief Senneff, seconded by
Mr. Powell and passed.
The Will Hightower resolution on retirement was made by Mr.
Powell, seconded by Mr. McCall and passed (attached).
The William R. Hoffman resolution on retirement was made by
Chief Senneff, seconded by Mrs. Pentecost and passed (attached).
Mr. Hirsh presented a form letter for pension application. Motion
for its adoption was made by Mr. McIntyre, seconded by Mr. Powell and
passed (attached).
A report was given by Chief Senneff on the advertising by notices
thru the bulletin and mailing pieces of the need for many people to make
sure their insurance policies' address is Miami. Shores Village. This
will enable the Police and Fire pension to receive 1% of the casualty and
fire insurance premiums written within the Village..

PENSION BOARD RESOLUTION NO, 3
WILL HIGHTOWER RETIREMENT
Whereas Will Hightower became 65 years of age
on January 21, 1956 and is therefore eligible for retirement
as authorized by the Miami Shores Pension Plan, and
Whereas he entered service on August 13, 1944 and
worked a period of fifteen years, four months, giving him a
service credit of fourteen years; and
Whereas, his average monthly salary for the last five
years is $259.82;
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved: That Will Hightower
be retired with a monthly pension of $72. 75 for life.
PENSION BOARD RESOLUTION NO. 4
WILLIAM R. HOFFMAN RETIREMENT
Whereas, William R. Hoffman became 65 years of
age June 10, 1957 and is therefore eligible for retirement as
authorized by the Miami Shores Pension Plan; and
Whereas, he entered service on October 16, 1949
and worked continuously through January 31, 1960, a period of
ten years and three months, giving him a service credit of 9
years; and
Whereas, his average monthly salary for the last
five years is $306.50;
Now, Therefore, Be it Resolved: That William R.
Hoffman be retired with a monthly pension of $55.17 for Life.
Passed and adopted January 19, 1960.
