All members were present as follows: Chairman M. J. Franco, Dean R. Claussen, J. H. Powell, C. Lawton 11111 McCall and J. W. McIntyre. There was a general discussion of the revised Pension Plan recommended by our actuary, Mr. Louis Hirsh, out of the suggestions submitted to him by Chief S. A. Senneff and J. W. McIntyre. It was felt that this was the best possible plan available out of the one mill tax voted by the freeholders. Mr. Dean Claussen made the motion to approve the amend- ment to Ordinance No. 273 by amending sections 3(d), 4(a) and (b), 5(b), 6(b) and (c) and adding (f), 10, 12(a), 15(a) (1) and adding Section 20 which shall provide for the creation of a special fund for the benefit of members who are police officers and/or firemen; repealing all ordin• - ances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith. Seconded by Mr. Harrell Powell and passed unanimously. Mr. McIntyre told the Board that Harold Petrey, our Recreation Director who is a school teacher and works for the Village about 30 hours a week, as a Department Head after school, would like to get in the Pension Plan. It was brought out by Mr. McIntyre that the Board has the authority to decide and that the definition of "employee" under the Pension Plan is "any regular officer or employee who is employed by the Village on a permanent basis. Employees serving on a part-time basis and persons employed under contract for a definite period or for the performance of a particular special service shall not be eligible for participation in the plan. " Mr. Claussen made the motion to postpone action on this until we get an opinion from our Actuary, Mr. Hirsh and the Village Attorney.
