03-03-2009 Agenda (2)• • • AGENDA MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD The Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation Board held a meeting on Monday, March 3, 2009 at 6:30 PM. The meeting was called to order with the following Board Members present: PRESENT: Alain Gonzalez Ivy Korman Christina Lane Sandra Roberts ALSO PRESENT: Barbara Estep, MMC, Village Clerk ACTION ITEMS Discussion and Possible Action Regarding Co -Designation of Biscayne Boulevard Resident Seth Bramson addressed the Board regarding suggestions for co -designating Biscayne Boulevard. Individual Board Members offered information regarding the people they researched and would like to see recognized. Board Members shared their thoughts on the various historical individuals. At the conclusion of the discussion, Ms. Lane moved to recommend to the Council that Biscayne Boulevard be designated as Hugh Anderson Boulevard and in addition, N.E. 2nd Avenue be designated as Ellen Spears Harris Avenue. Ms. Korman seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. Ms. Estep suggested that the Board Members each write a short narrative regarding Hugh Anderson and Ellen Spears Harris. Board Members decided the Mr. Gonzalez and Ms. Roberts would write about Hugh Anderson and Ms. Lane and Ms. Korman would write about Ellen Spears Harris. The next meeting of the Historic Preservation Board was scheduled for Monday, March 23, 2009 at 6:30 PM in order to finalize the submittal information.
