In the event this agenda must be revised, such revised copies will be available to the public at the Historic Preservation Board meeting. Pursuant to Chapter 286.0105, Florida Statutes, if a person decides to appeal any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based. Estep, MMC Village Clerk /II AIL RESOLUTION NO. 1159-09 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL, REQUESTING THAT THE MIAMI SHORES HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD RESEARCH AND PROVIDE A RECOMMENDATION TO THE COUNCIL WITH RESPECT TO CO -DESIGNATING THAT PORTION OF BISCAYNE BOULEVARD WHICH LIES WITHIN THE VILLAGE BOUNDARIES AFTER AN HISTORIC FIGURE WHO PLAYED A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN THE FORMATION OF THE VILLAGE. WHEREAS, The Historic Preservation Board has the authority to recommend to the Village Council designation of a Village roadway or a portion of a roadway which traverses the Village to honor a worthy individual; and, WHEREAS, Inasmuch as Biscayne Boulevard is a major thoroughfare within Miami Shores and that roadway, also known as US 1, is a continuous roadway beginning in the most northern region of Maine and ending in Key West, Florida, plays an important part in the nation's history; and, • • WHEREAS, The Miami Shores Village Council believes that the portion of Biscayne Boulevard which lies within the Village should be co -named to celebrate the historical significance of an individual who played a role in the formation of the Village; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL:' ' Section 1. That the Village Council requests the Historic Preservation Board research and recommend to the Council the name of an historically significant individual in whose honor Biscayne Boulevard may be co -designated. Section 2. That the Village Clerk, as soon as practical, convene a meeting of the Historic Preservation Board in order to begin this process. Section 3.
