02-10-2005 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2005 The Historic Preservation Board met on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at the Village Hall. The meeting was convened at 7:30 PM with the following members present: PRESENT: Bob Davis Otto Paier Steve Zelkowitz ABSENT: Carolyne cadwallader Hal Marshall Madeleine Romanello ALSO PRESENT: Barbara Estep, CMC, Village Clerk ACTION ITEMS 1) Minutes — December 15, 2004 . Mr. Marshall moved approval of the December 1, 2004 meeting minutes. Ms. Romanello seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor. 2) Request for Certificate of Appropriateness Exterior Paint — 61 N.E. 96th Street Benjamin Moore Historic Paint — HC -7 See Attached Mr. Michot presented the Board with his choice of paint color. Mr. Davis moved to grant the Certificate of Appropriateness to paint the house with Benjamin Moore, HC -7. Mr. Marshall seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor. Following the vote, Mr. Michot spoke about the issue of lime base paint on his home. He related the problems he has had with the Village regarding the upkeep of the exterior of the home. The Board asked that the Clerk speak to the Village Manager regarding maintaining lime base paint and to get back to Mr. Michot. In any event, if Mr. Michot chooses to paint the home with regular paint, he has the approval to paint with the Benjamin Moore, HC -7. 3) Discussion Regarding the Historic Home Tour A general discussion regarding the status of planning for the tour took place. It was recommended that contact be made with the Community Church to see if the Church would be amiable to opening the Church for the tour. • • • • Mrs. Estep raised the issue of Board membership, indicating that Mr. Tenney had resigned from the Board due to an on-going schedule conflict. In addition, Otto Paier had announced that he was moving out of the Village and would need to forfeit his seat on the Board. Mrs. Estep stated that the Board membership had been five (5) members until approximately four years ago and asked the Board to consider discussing amending the ordinance to revert back to five members rather than the current seven. Board members expressed their views on the issue and it was the consensus of the Board to recommend an amendment that would lower the membership number back to five. THE NEXT MEETING OF THE BOARD WAS SCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, MARCH 7 AT 7:30 PM., ADJOURNMENT The February 10, 2005 Historic Preservation Board meeting was adjourned at 8:20 PM. Barbara A.
