03-03-2003 Special Meeting• • • MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD The Historic Preservation Board held a special meeting on Monday, March 3, 2003 at the Village Hall. This meeting was called due a scheduling conflict for the regular meeting of the Board scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2003. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 PM with the following members present: PRESENT: Martha Anne Collins Bob Davis (arrived at 7:40 PM) Maria Temkin William Tenney Steve Zelkowitz ALSO PRSENT: Barbara A. Estep, CMC, Village Clerk ACTION ITEMS 1. Minutes — February 10, 2003 Mr. Zelkowitz moved approval of the February 10, 2003 Board Minutes. Ms. Collins seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor. 2. Discussion regarding the Home Tour Bill Tenney asked for an update from Board Members relating to the tasks assigned during the previous meeting. Mr. Zelkowitz reported that he had confirmed the Community Church and the Grand Concourse Apartments to be a part of the tour. Mr. Zelkowitz further reported that he had tentatively scheduled the Quinton home (at 457 N.E. 95th Street) and the Cornell home (at 431 N.E. 94th Street) to also be on the tour. He reported that in speaking with James DeMolyneux regarding the Grand Concourse Apartments, Mr. DeMolyneux offered his home at 500 N.E. 97th Street to be shown as well. The Board agreed that as the tour would end at the Archive Room of the Ubrary, and including the DeMolyneux home, the properties and houses Mr. Zelkowitz had solicited would be sufficient for the tour. The Board decided on the route that the tour would take so that Mr. Zelkowitz can provide approximate times to the homeowners. Ms. Temkin advised Mr. Tenney that the Ubrary had brief write-ups on each property so that he would not have to worry about that aspect of the tour. Ms. Temkin then advised the group on her intentions for publicity announcements. Following a discussion among the Board Members, it was decided that rather than printed tickets, stickers would be used to identify individuals who had paid for the tour. Ms. Collins stated that she would purchase stickers for the event. Ms. Temkin stated that as the refreshments would be served at the Ubrary, she would purchase the refreshments and coordinate the Archive Room tour. • • • Mr. Zelkowitz raised the issue of only three Board Members being available to go along with the people who sign up for the tour and the possibility of recruiting members of the community to assist if necessary. The Clerk indicated that the next meeting is scheduled for Monday, April 7th. AD3OURNMENT The March 3, 2003 special meeting of the Historic Preservation Board was adjourned at 8:00 PM.
