correction be made in the last paragraph of the minutes pertaining to documen%tOC e
archived. Corrections were noted by the Clerk. Ms. Cadwallader moved approval of the

2. Request for Certificate of Appropriateness
287 N.E. 96th Street
Applicant: Warren Bittner
Request: Repaint exterior walls and trim as follows and attached:
Walls — Behr — Echo Trail
Window Sills & Shadows — Behr — Chaps
Windows & Wood Trim — Behr — Medieval Brown
Mr. Bittner passed the gavel to Ms. Temkin as he is the applicant for the Certificate of
Appropriateness. Ms. Temkin administered the oath and Mr. Bittner read into the record
and filed a voting conflict form with the Village Clerk.
Mr. Bittner reminded the Board that it had previously approved a color for the masonry
walls of the property on March 20, 2002, and that Mr. Bittner had begun painting tha
color, i.e. Victorian Linen. After completing the east wing, it was Mr. Bittner's opinion
that the color was too white and in addition, that while pressure cleaning, the original
color was exposed in several places, a color similar to Behr Echo Trail. Accordingly,
Mr. Bittner explained his preference (choice of colors) for painting (his) the property the
original color. He noted a possible problem with painting the walls, however, as there
are several (is a) large bougainvillea bushes that hinder(s) the painting of the front of
the home. Mr. Bittner stated that if he cannot devise a way to effectively move the
bushes away from the house while he paints the wall behind the bushes then he (will)
wants to paint the walls a white (different) color similar to the existing color. Due to
these circumstances, Mr. Bittner asked that two sets of color schemes be -approved by
the Board. Following a brief discussion regarding the paint choices, Ms. Collins moved
to approve the paint colors as described below (with the noted condition):
(If Mr. Bittner can paint behind the bougainvillea:)
Behr Echo Trail Walls
Behr Chaps Window Sills and Shadows
Behr Medieval Brown Windows and Wood Trim
OR
(If Mr. Bittner cannot paint behind the bougainvillea:)
Behr Eggshell Cream Walls
Behr Echo Trail Window Sills and Shadows
Behr Medieval Brown Windows and Wood Trim
Ms. Cadwallader seconded the motion and the vote was unanimo4is in flavor. _
Ms. Temkin returned the gavel to Mr. Bittner. Mr. Bittner spoke to the Board members
regarding the County Historic Preservation Board's proposed amendment to their:_-
goveming ordinance. Mr. Bittner indicated that the Board should plan on discussing the
proposal at a future meeting so that they can forward their thoughts to the Village
Council. He indicated that a hearing was to be held on June 18th but that the item had
not yet been scheduled before the County Commission.
Ms. Temkin asked if anything was to be discussed regarding Mr. Newman's
correspondence relating to the web site proposal. It was decided that any discussion
would wait until Mr. Newman was present.
