08-21-2000 Regular Meeting (2)• • • MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MINUTES A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation Board was held at Village Hall on Monday, August 21, 2000. The meeting was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by Chairman Bittner with the following members present and absent: Present: Warren Bittner, Chairman Dennis E. Arden, Member Carolyne Cadwallader, Member Inez Hegedus -Garcia, Member William Tenney, Member Absent: Maria Temkin, Vice Chairperson John Bachay, Member AGENDA ITEMS APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF APRIL 3, 2000 Mr. Tenney moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded by Ms. Cadwallader and passed unanimously. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS 1. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 960 N.E. 95th Street APPLICANT: KITTY & COURTNEY CUNNINGHAM Rehabilitation/New Construction: Install electronic sliding gates between existing brick pillars at entrance to each end of horse shoe driveway Mr. Cunningham described his application for the Board. He indicated that his main concern was a security -related due to their small child. After some discussion, Mr. Tenney moved to approve the application, with the conditions that: (1) the gates be the same height as the adjacent fence; and (2) the gates have the same exterior appearance as the existing fence. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 9760 N.E. 5th Avenue Road APPLICANTS: PETER & LESLIE TATTERSFIELD New Construction: Enlarge kitchen and add family room and master suite on the East side of the existing house. Enlarge living room extending out the back of house. New Roof. • • After considerable discussion on the merits of the application and its inconsistency with the Secretary of Interiors Standards for Rehabilitation, the Tattersfields elected to withdraw their application. ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMENTS 1. Ms. Cadwallader gave the treasurer's report that the proceeds of the Historic Home and Garden Tour which took place on Saturday, April 15, 2000, was $670.00. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Bittner adjourned the meeting at 8:20 p.m..
