03-20-2000 Regular Meeting• • MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MINUTES A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation Board was held at Village Hall on Monday, March 20, 2000. The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by Chairman Bittner with the following members present and absent: Present: Warren Bittner, Chairman John Bachay, Member Carolyne Cadwallader, Member Absent: Maria Temkin, Vice Chairperson Inez Hegedus -Garcia, Member Dennis E. Arden, Member William Tenney, Member AGENDA ITEMS APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 9, 2000 Ms. Cadwallader moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Bachay and passed unanimously. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS 1. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 61 N.E. 96th Street APPLICANT: WALTER MICHOT Maintenance or Repair: Repaint exterior with Lime Based Paint Mr. Michot described his application for the Board. He indicated that the Lime Based Paint would be coming from Emilio Chiafonni. After some discussion, Mr. Bachay moved to approve the application, which was seconded by Ms. Cadwallader and passed unanimously. 1. • APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 361 N.E. 97`h Street APPLICANTS: IAN BALLINTER & KENNETH P. SMITH • • Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting March 20, 2000 Page 2 1 Maintenance or Repair/Restoration: Replace garage door with new steel door; renew paint permit; renew permit to replace 3 front steel casement windows with wood frame windows; remove shutters. Because no one appeared on behalf of the applicants the application was continued until the next meeting. 3. REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF HISTORIC PLAQUE LANGUAGE LOCAL & NATIONAL REGISTER 310 N.E. 99th Street APPLICANTS: CLAUDIA & DANIEL AULTON Mr. Aulton appeared on behalf of the applicants. He indicated that his home never got a local plaque. He also indicated that he wanted to place a National Register plaque on the home. By motion made by Ms. Cadwallader, and seconded by Mr. Bachay, the Board approved the following language for the local plaque: 310 N.E. 99th Street B. Clark & Johnnye Bracken House Built 1925 Designated 1984 By motion made by Mr. Bachay and seconded by Ms. Cadwallader, the Board approved the following language for the National Register plaque: 310 N.E. 99th Street SHORELAND COMPANY HOUSE NO. 19 KIEHNEL & ELLIOTT, ARCHITECTS BUILT 1925 ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMENTS Further discussion ensued on the Historic Home and Garden Tour scheduled for Saturday, April 15, 2000. Again, all Board members were encouraged to coordinate with Mr. Bittner in encouraging historic homeowners to participate in the tour. ADJOURNMENT Mr. Bittner adjourned the meeting at 8:15 p.
