03-01-1999 Regular Meeting• • MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MINUTES A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation Board was held at Village Hall on Monday, March 1, 1999. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Chairman Bittner with the following members present and absent: Present: Warren Bittner, Chairman Maria Temkin, Vice Chairperson Inez Hegedus -Garcia, Member Carolyn R. Cadwallader, Member William Tenney, Member Absent: Jaime Camacho, Member John Bachay, Member AGENDA ITEMS APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 17,1999: ID Ms. Hegedus -Garcia moved to approve the minutes. The motion was seconded by Mr. Tenney, and passed unanimously. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS: 1. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 145 NE 94Th STREET APPLICANTS: Frederick L. Newman & Sharon K. Grosshart Rehabilitation: Construction of swimming pool in back/side yard. Mr. Newman explained the placement of the pool. Mr. Newman assured the Board that his application did not call for any tree removal. Mr. Tenney moved to approve the application and Ms. Temkin seconded the motion. It passed unanimously with the condition that, "No trees shall be removed in the construction of this pool and other structures." ,ANNOUNCEMENTS/COMMENTS: 2. REPORT - STATUS OF PUEBLO FELIZ BENCHES • Mr. Tenney reported that the benches were now safe and sound in the Miami Shores Theater. REPORT - HISTORICAL ROOM IN FORMER POLICE STATION Ms. Temkin reported that the room was completed and that the archives would have an open house on 3/24/99. 4. REPORT - STATUS OF DESIGNATION DRIVE Ms. Hegedus -Garcia agreed to contact the owners of Villa Brazil on 100th Street, and Mr. Bittner agreed to contact the owner of the old Casino on 100th Street for designation. 9. DISCUSSION - DADE HERITAGE DAYS The Board members were requested to continue soliciting homes for the walking tour. ADJOURNMENT: Mr. Bittner adjourned the meeting at 8:18 p.m.
