06-18-1998 Regular MeetingMIAMI SHORES VILLAGE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MINUTES A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation Board was held at Village Hall on Wednesday, June 18, 1997. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Bittner with the following members present and absent: Present Warren Bittner, Chairman Elaine Franck Member John Bolton, Member Margarita Courtney, Member Absent: Maria Temkin, Vice Chairperson Kimberly Logan -Hynes, Member Ines Hegedus -Garcia, Member AGENDA ITEMS APPROVAL OF MINUTES 1. MINUTES - May 19, 1997: Mr. Bolton moved to approve the minutes as amended. The motion was seconded by Ms. Franck, and passed unanimously. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS 2. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS MIAMI SHORES COMMUNITY CHURCH 9823 N.E. 4TH AVENUE APPLICANT: REV. JAMES P. KVETKO Restoration and New Construction: Replace windows on 2"d Floor of historic firehouse; build addition onto East side of historic firehouse. • Reverend Kvetko and architect Richard Schuster spoke about the proposed project and showed the Board the plans and an artist's rendering in color. After much detailed discussion, Ms. Franck moved to approve the application with the following conditions: (1) Window B on the plans are to be identical to window EE; (2) Windows AA, FF and GG to be 3 vertical lites per casement; (3) Windows BB to have 4 vertical lites per casement; (4) Doors in new addition to have 4 or 5 vertical lites; (5) Roof over new addition to be handmade clay tile, not painted and tile to be subject to Board approval; (6) Historic Preservation l Regular Meeting June 18, 1997 Page 2 West Elevation overhang roof to be stripped of paint; (7) No painting without prior Board approval; (8) All work as per 3 sheets of blue prints (to be attached to the Application). The motion was seconded by Mr. Bolton and passed unanimously. PUBLIC MEETING ITEMS: 3. All additional agenda items were deferred until the next meeting.
