02-10-1997 Regular Meeting• MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MINUTES A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation Board was held at Village Hall on Monday, February 10, 1997. The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Bittner with the following members present and absent: Present: Warren Bittner, Chairman Kimberly Logan -Hynes, Member Elaine Franck Member John Bolton, Member • Margarita Courtney, Member Ines Hegedus -Garcia, Member Absent: Maria Temkin, Vice Chairperson AGENDA ITEMS • APPROVAL OF MINUTES - 1. MINUTES - January 14,1997: Ms. Logan -Hynes moved to approve the minutes as amended. The motion was seconded by Ms. Franck, and passed unanimously. • PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS • 2. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 622 N.E. 98th STREET OWNER: GUY O'GRADY Rehabilitation: Install air conditioning compressor unit in side yard on the West side of main structure Dr. O'Grady explained that the compressor would not be seen from the street. Dr. O'Grady showed the Board a site plan showing the proposed location of the compressor unit. Ms. Frank moved to approve the application. The motion was seconded by Ms. Courtney, and passed unanimously. 3. APPLICATION FOR CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS 622 N.E. 98th STREET OWNER: GUY O'GRADY Historic Preservation Board Regular Meeting February 10, 1997 Page 2 Maintenance or Repair/Rehabilitation: Replace chain link fence with a wood cypress picket fence and install new fence along rear property line. Dr. O'Grady explained that the proposed fence would be more compatible with the architectural style of the house than the existing chain link fence, and that it would solve an existing encroachment problem concerning the existing fence. Dr. O'Grady showed the Board a site plan showing the proposed location of the wood fence. Ms. Hegedus -Garcia moved to approve the application. The motion was seconded by Ms. Logan -Hynes, and passed unanimously. PUBLIC MEETING ITEMS: 4. UNITY DAY EVENT - HISTORIC TROLLEY TOURS REPORT Mr. Bittner and Ms. Franck jointly conducted the tour and reported to the Board. Because of cold weather and an unenclosed trolley, attendance was limited. Mr. Bittner and Ms. Franck reported that tour proceeds were only $34.50, significantly lower than last year. Mr. Bittner and Ms. Franck suggested that perhaps next year they would inquire about utilizing the Community Center Bus because it is enclosed. • 5. DADE HERITAGE DAYS -MIAMI, SHORES HISTORIC HOME & • GARDEN TOUR The following planning updates were reported: (a) Ms. Frank indicated she would submit the proposed solicitation letter to Mr. Bittner by the end of February; (b) Ms. Temkin would advise DHT and the Village's Marketing Director (Mildred Ramos) that the date selected would be May 10, 1997 from 10:00 to 1:00, and that the group would assemble at the Shores Theater; (c) Mr. Bolton advised of the availability of the Community Center Bus should it be needed; (d) Ms. Temkin volunteered to take charge of refreshments.
