Mr. Smith stated the house is structurally sound,, though it had been
moved previously. It is in serious disrepair. The roof needs to be re-
placed and much carpenter and plaster work is necessary.
Mayor Johnson hopes that it can be moved to Memorial.Park . He hopes
it will.sr+mnlate interest in the Village, and could.maybe house the Chamber
of Commerce. The maintenance cost would. be small, June 1st is the deadline
fora Special Project Grant which is 507 matching fund Grant. The cost
would be around $150,000.. Mayor Johnson talked to Robert Taylor in
Tallahassee and was informed of funds being available in July.1993, but
this can come under an acquisition and' development matching Grant 7/1/92.
Charlie Smith noted he contacted Russell movers who agreed the cost to
move the house into the Shores would be about $45,000.. The house would need
to be cut in half. This amount does not include foundation work, but they
will put the house back together.
Members asked questions concerning the acquisition. Can it be moved to
the Park? The Mayor responded, Mr. Faun, Village..Attorney, said a waiver. can
be obtained from the heir, and this is consistent with park use.
Mr. von Bittner commented he would like to see the land purchased and
leave the house there. Also maybe Dade County may contribute something to.-
ward cost. Mr.Gaggstatter noted it is a non masonry structure and wondered
if this made a difference. Also he mentioned installation of afire sprinkler
and security alarm system.

area, kitchen, bath and additional bath with tile added -in 1940, He showed
the dining area and stairs to the upstairs. The windows are in good shape.

is due to rainwater.
