05-20-1991 Regular MeetingHISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD - REGULAR MEETING MAY 20., 1991 The regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation 110 Board was held at the Miami Shores Village Hall on Monday, May 20, 1991. The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by Chairman, Mr. Gaggstatter, with the following members present: H. D. Gaggstatter, Chairman Margarita Courtney Maria T. Temkin Absent: Marty Kern and Julie Obermeyer • • 1. MINUTES - APRIL 15, 1991 The minutes of the meeting of April 15, 1991 were approved. by a motion made by Mar ;arita Courtney, seconded by Maria Temkin, and passed by unanimous vote. 2. REVIEW AND ACT UPON - REQUEST FOR DESIGNATION OF PROPERTY 70 N. E. 96th STREET Mr. Gaggstatter asked if Members had driven by to look at the house. He reported it is a two story house and in very good condition. Mr. Gaggstatter is sure the full report is a favorable one. Mrs. Temkin had drived by the house and stated, the house is in good condition and worthy of designation. Also she noted, it is a Robert Law Weed ar`hi =e;.tural design. Mrs. Courtney made a motion to recommend (70 N. E. 96th St) the house to Council for H_storic Designation, the motion was seconded by Mrs. Temkin, and carried unanimously. 3. ANNOUNCE EY S ND/0R COMMENTS Mr. Gaggstatter announced that he had ordered the plaque for Julie Obermeyer's home. It will be placed on the home when it arrives. Maria T. Temkin will attend the Council Meeting of May 21, 1991. Maria is filling the unexpired term of Margo Newton on the Historic Preservation Board, and is scheduled for reappointment to the Board. Discussion ensued, concerning placing an article in the Village News in an effort to start up a new Historic Council for Miami Shores Village. There was brief discussion on the designation of homes on the National Register which have not been designated locally. Maria Temkin will draft a letter for Mr. Gaggstatter to approve.
