OR ID A HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD May.16, 1988 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Historic Preservation Board waa held at the: Miami. Shores Village Hall., ' on Monday, May 16, 1988 at 7:40 P.M. The meeting was called. to order by Margo Newton, Chairman, with the following members present: Margo:Newton, Chairman Hank D. Gaggstatter Marty Kern Absent: Henry T. Courtney Vivian D. Rodriguez 2. MINUTES - FEBRUARY 22, 1988 Mr. Gaggstatter moved to approve, as written, the minutes of the meeting of February 22, 1988, seconded by.Mrs.. Kern, and passed unanimously. 3. RECOMMENDATION FOR DESIGNATION AS A HISTORIC LANDMARK: 145 N. E. 95th Street Ms. Newton reported that the new owners of thishome are Steve & Linda Johnson. She further stated that she has talked with Steve an attorney, who is aware of the requirements for Historic:Designation, and is in favor of signing the Convenant. Following further brief .diacussion, Nr. Gaggstatter moved to recommend the house for designation, provided the Convenant is signed as it:is written. Motion was seconded by -Marty Kern, and passed unanimously. 61 N. E. 96th Street The new owners of this home are Henry & Michelle Maruri. Members received a copy of the Site Inventory..Form, this is a report on the style and signifi- cance of the house. Ms. Newton reported that she had conversation with Mrs. Maruri, who indicated a willingness to sign. A motion was made by Mr. Gaggstatter to recommend the house for historic designation, provided the Covenant is signed as it is written, seconded by Mrs. Kern, and passed unanimously. Na. Newton further cautioned, it is a good idea to watch for.any balcony repairs, to be sure a.Certificate of Appropriateness is obtained. 4. NATIONAL REGISTER NOMINATION PROPOSAL Margo. Newton reported that Metro Dade Preservation Board has reviewed the Miami Shores National Register Nomination list,it is approved. She and Mrs. Vivian Rodriguez; will be going to Tallahassee fot the slide.presentation. They do not anticipate any problems—in Tallahassee. From Tallahassee the report will be reviewed in Washington, and will be acted on within 4 or 5 Bayo. 45 days. • • • HISTORIC, PRESERVAT.ION.BOARD -2- 5/16/88 5. COMMENTS, REPORTS, ANNOUNCEMENTS Mrs. Kern inquired as to the status -of Claudia & Daniel Aulton residence, 310 N. E. 99th St.. Ms. Newton reported that -.she had no response to a letter which she addressed to the Aultons:. As .of this date Mr. LuBien has not received response to the notice of violation. .The Secretary explainedthe procedure for sending notices and. time allowed for correction of the violation. Margo:Newton reported that she had received. a. letter from Jeff Levine, who states he is a collector. of Historic Photos. He requested she give him certain photographs or negatives in the archives of:Historic Homes. Members did -not show -too much :enthusiasm`:for- .the _. idea. No action was taken. There being no further business to come before the Board the meeting adjourned at 8:15 E.M. . ectaxy ec taxy
