• 3. ARCHIVES
•
Margo Newton reported that certain archive materials are being stored
in a trunk at the Community Center. Mr. McCall had suggested to her
that slides be made from the.photographs., and a taped narration be
made to go along with the slides, as a early history documentation of
Miami Shores Village. Ms. Newton reported that money is available in
the budget for such a project. Vivian. Rodriguez will investigate cost
of approximately 80 slides for this project. Following much discussion,
Saturday, October 4th, 10:00 A.M. was scheduled as a tentative day & time
to review the Archives and place them in some order for easy access.
4. COMMUNITY AWARENESS - HISTORIC SPOTLIGHT
Ms. Newton suggested that in an effort to make the°_Community more
aware of Historic Preservation, it may be a good idea to spotlight a
Historic Home or site in Miami Shores in the Village Hall News each
month. This could be done with a photograph and an accompanying article.
Further discussion and work on this project will be accomplishedat the
Saturday, October 4th Workshop.
5. HISTORIC EVENTS CALENDAR
Ms. Newton reported that the Shores Heritage Council will discuss and
determine a Calendar of Events for the year, and these events will be
co-sponsored by the Historic Preservation Board.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD -2- 9/15/86
There was some objection to this idea and much discussion followed.
Mrs. Colangelo noted that the Shores Heritage Council was organized
as a social.body for those interested in historic preservation and
there are certain same members of the Historic Preservation Board ad
on the Shores Heritage Council.
Following much discussion, it was determined the Historic Preservation
