Seattle, Wash.
Mrs. Stofik then made the following six point, recommendations
for the Board to consider: 1. Continue .with the designation
of the individual sites, utilitizing the information compiled
in the Survey. 2. Pursue the possibility of nominating a group
of structures to the National Register as a thematic or multiple
resource based on information in the Survey. 3. Look at the
possibility of designating local Historic Districts in
areas of high concentration. 4. Proceed withnomination of the
Old Pump House, in spite of the lack of encouragement from
Tallahassee. 5. Revisit the proposed designation of outstand-
ing structures nominated but not designated for lack of owner
consent. Finally, consider the feasibility of contacting the
owners of all 226 properties, to let them know their homes are
listed, and invite them to participate in the preservation program.
Mr. Rodriguez reported that, Mike Zimny, in their conversation,
also commented on the Grand Concourse Apartments, and the.good
possibility that it will be nominated to the. National Register of
Historic Places. The;Review Board hearing day is scheduled for
Friday, August 23rd.
Mr. Rodriguez further reported on Dick Johnson's willingness to
donate from his collection, certain architectural drawings of
Robert Law Weed to the Woodrow Wilson Architectural Archives.
There is now need for a volunteer to catalog the works. A very
worthwhile project for the Miami Shores Preservation Board to
consider.
It was determined that the. Site Survey Forms and the picture
negatives will be stored in a closet in the Building Department
