We received from Mr. Charles E. Omar, D.D.S., considerable
documentation regarding the early period of the Oxar Homestead.
The site itself has considerable historic merit dating back to
the.1893 homestead. Recent photographs reveal this structure
has been considerably altered. This. structure was. before the

However, she is presently contemplating putting the house on
the market, and is unsure of accepting landmark designation at
the present time.

house so that the original structure can no longer be recognized,
Our Ordinance provides for designation of historic sites and Mr.
Dixon felt this structure deserved a historic site designation,
Mrs. Stofik noted that of primary value on the site are the
trees which are protected under the County Enviornmental Tree
Ordinance.
Mr. Dixon moved for recommendation to Council, designation
as a historical site, subject to section 6, Ordinance No,

Mr. Dixon reported to the Chairman information he received
from his daughter, who is on Gov, Graham's legal staff.
Mr. Dixon received a call from his daughter advising re
an inquiry from a Governor's aide as to why Miami Shor s

the Miami Shores Elementary School to be designated as
historical site. Mrs. Stofik spoke'to the Governor anMrs,
