06-01-1995 Regular MeetingCODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING • June 1, 1995 A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Code Enforcement Board was held on Thursday, June 1, 1995, at the Miami Shores Village Hall. The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairperson Caldwell at 6:30 P.M. with the following members present: Chairperson Barry Asmus Lance A. Harke Margaret Burch Prospero G. Herrera, II Ivor R. Hegedus John Sydow Also present: Richard Trumble Chairperson Asmus called the meeting to order with the first item on the agenda being the approval of the May 4, 1995, Minutes. 1. Minutes - May 4, 1995 Mr. Herrera moved to approve the Minutes of May 4, 1995, as corrected. Ms. • Burch seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. HEARING 2. Case 4492 500 NE 90 Street Owner: South Pointe Family Tenant: Secretary of HUD Unsightly fascia, soffit, exterior of house No one from South Pointe Family and Children's Center was present to speak on the violation. Mr. Trumble stated that the violation occurred on January 27, 1995, and passed pictures to the Board for review. He reported that he had spoken with Mr. Nelson Bell of South Pointe Family and Children's Center, and Mr. Bell had requested a sixty day extension because this was a HUD property and it would have to be put out for bid. Mr. Trumble advised the Board that he had given Mr. Bell the sixty days, but nothing had been done. A violation was written which gave an additional thirty days. Mr. Trumble stated that he had made several telephone calls to Mr. Bell, but had not yet received a return call. Chairperson Asmus asked if this property was a commercial property. He was advised that it was not. • Code Enforcement Board Regular Meeting June 1, 1995 Page Two Section 12-133. Depreciation of surrounding property. The exterior of every structure shall be so maintained with reasonable attractiveness so as not, in the case of excessive scaling or paint or excessive mildew, to cause a substantial depreciation in property values in the immediate neighborhood. The exterior surfaces shall be kept free from materials, objects and conditions which will have an adverse effect on adjacent premises. Mr. Caldwell moved for a Finding of Fact and Conclusion of Law that a violation exists to Section 12-133 of the Miami Shores Village Code and an administrative fee of $180 be assessed. If the violation is not corrected within 30 days, a $25 a day fine shall be levied. Mr. Hegedus seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 3. Case 4516 52 NW 111 Street Owner: Willie May Sapp Inoperable vehicle on premises Section 13-1. Inoperable vehicle on premises . • It is prohibited to maintain a vehicle not in provable operating condition and not stored in a garage. Mr. Trumble stated that the violation had been corrected. Ms. Burch moved for dismissal. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 4. Case 4519 295 NW 111 Street Owner: Jeane Ulysse Inoperable vehicle on premises Section 13-1. Inoperable vehicle on premises . It is prohibited to maintain a vehicle not in provable operating condition and not stored in a garage. Mr. Trumble stated that the violation had been corrected. Ms. Burch moved for dismissal. Mr. Hegedus seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. 5.
