CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING
DECEMBER 2, 1993
A regular meeting of the Miami Shores Village Code Enforce-
ment Board was held on Thursday December 2, 1993 at the Miami
Shores Village Hall. The meeting was called to order by
Vice Chairman Caldwell at 7:30 P.M. with the following mem-
bers present:

Daniel B. Owens
John L. Patnik Jr.
Prospero G. Herrera II
Ivor Hegedus
Margaret Burch
Absent: Barry Asmus
Also Present:Mr. Frank LuBien, Director of Code Enforcement
Mr. Richard Trumble, Code Enforcement Inspector
Mr. Jean Placide, Code Enforcement Inspector
Ms. Teresa Lyles, Code Enforcement Inspector
Mr. LuBien, Mr. Trumble, Mr. Placide and Ms. Lyles were sworn
In for the meeting.
1. Minutes of November 4, 1993
Ms. Burch moved to approve the Minutes as submitted. Mr.
Owens seconded the motion and It passed unanimously.

Edward A. Joseph, DDS
Mr. LuBien read a letter submitted by Dr. Joseph explaining
that he would not be able to attend tonlghts' meeting and
that he has had a great deal of difficulty getting estimates
on the repairs needed and asked If the Board would grant him
an extension. After further discussion, Ms. Burch moved for
a Finding of Fact and Conclusion of Law that a violation
exists to Section 12-133 of the Miami Shores Village Code and
ordered If not corrected In 90 days, a fine of $25 per day
will become effective. Mr. Owens seconded the motion and It
passed unanimously.

Efrain Acosta
Mr. Placide stated the resident pulled a permit on Monday and
Is In the process of correcting the violation.
Mr. Owens made a motion to dismiss the case. Ms. Burch
seconded the motion and It passed unanimously.

Ms. Baioff stated that she Is unable to correct the violation
at this time due to other circumstances. After much dis-
cussion, Mr. Owens moved for a Finding of Fact and Conclusion
of Law that a violation exists to Section 12-133 of the Miami
Shores VIIIage Code and ordered if not corrected In 30 days,
a fine of $25 per day will become effective. Ms. Burch
seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

215 NE 98 Street
Morris Shapiro
Ms. Beatrice Shapiro stated she has had a very difficult time
finding a qualified roofer and gutter person and that the
weather has also prevented any work to be done on the roof.
Ms. Shapiro also stated that she has located a qualified
person for the roof and the gutter and when this work Is com-
pleted, she will paint the exterior of the building. After a
discussion, Mr. Owens moved for a Finding of Fact and
Conclusion of Law that a violation exists to Section 12-133
of the Miami Shores Village Code and ordered If not corrected
In 60 days, a fine of $25 per day will become effective. Mr.
Patnik seconded the motion and It passed unanimously.

Harry Axelrod
Mr. Placide stated that no permit has been Issued as of this
date.
After a discussion, Ms. Burch moved for a Finding of Fact
and Conclusion of Law that a violation exists to Section 6-4
of the Miami Shores VIIIage Code and ordered if not corrected
In 30 days, a fine of $25 per day will become effective.
Mr. Herrera seconded the motion and it passed unanimously.

Mr. Placide stated that no permit has been Issued as of this
date.

After a discussion, Mr. Owens moved for a Finding of Fact and
Conclusion of Law that a violation exists to Section 12-104
of the Miami Shores Village Code and ordered If not corrected
In 30 days, a fine of $25 per day will become effective.
Mr. Herrera seconded the motion and It passed unanimously.
A motion for adjournment was made at 7:50 P.M.
