Themeeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M., at the Miami Shores. Village Hall by acting Chairman Barry Asmus, with the following members present: Barry K. Asmus Charles M. Custin Franklin E. Grau Owen Henderson III Thomas L. James John L. Stokesberry Absent: William Schroeder Also:present: Frank.LuBien, Director of Code. Enforcement Jack Wilson, Code Enforcement Inspector New members, Charles M. Custin, Owen Henderson III, and, John L. Stokesberry were introduced and welcomed. 1. MINUTES - October 1, 1987 The minutes ofthe meeting of October 1., 1987 were approved, as written, by a motionmade by Mr. Grau, seconded by Mr. Henderson, and passed by unanimous vote. 2. HEARING, CASE NO.., 87-2807-200 HEPPOLITE FLEIIRANTIN 9.25 N. W. 2nd AVE PARKING COMMERCIAL VEHICLE Mr. LuBien read the facts behind the violation to the Sehedule of Regulations, as parking a taxi in a residential zone. The case was :first processed in 1985. Subsequent complaint received on or about Septtember11, 1987, and several_ inspections confirmed the complaint. Mr. LuBien.further reported, that this is a repeat violation and when. he-talked.with.:Mr.. Fleurantin he explained the importance.of his attending this meeting, andwhat the con- sequence might be. Also he reported the taxi'has not been observed lately. Members reviewed photographs'. of the violation. Mr. Fleurantin was not present. In response to query from Mr. Grau, Mr. LuBien reported that. when the case was processed on June 6, 1985, no Administrative fee was'assessed, but a $10,.00;, per day fine would be levied„if not corrected in thirty days. Mr. Grau moved„ that though the vehicle: has been, removed.: and violation is corrected, the fact remains, Mr. Fleurantin is a -second time offender,:.an.d ordered that an. Administrative fee of $110.00 be. assessed; further should the violation reoccur, a Notice of'Hearing would be served, by-passing the Affidavit of Violation process. Motion was seconded by Mr. Henderson, and passed by a unanimous roll call vote. • CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD MEETING -2- 11/5/87 3. AFFIDAVIT. OF VIOLATION, CASE NO. 87-4571-201 ALAN P. FISKE INCOMPLETE ROOF REPAIRS 1260 N. E. 99th ST. Nr. LuBien read the facts behind the violation as Member -reviewed the photographs.. Mr. LuBien noted that the pictures area bit hazy since they were taken into the sun. The auto was removed after the photographs .were taken., however the roof remains incomplete. Mr. Grau moved toproceed to the next step, seconded by Mr. Custin and passed. 4. AFFIDAVIT OF VIOLATION CASE NO. 87-4599-202. VIVIAN TOOKES HEDGES NOT IN .COMPLIANCE 137 N. W. 106th ST. ;.,members viewed photographs,vas Mr. LuBien recitedthe facts of violation to Sec 518(a) and 10-10. Noticeswere sent and some trimming was done, but the hedge remains in 'violation, not only being, in excess of height limits, but also growing out of fence into the alley right of way. Mr. Grau madea motion to go to the next step,.seeonded by Mr. Stokesberry and passed unanimously. 5. REPORTS FROM PREVIOUS MEETINGS A. EASE No.. 87-4552-199 INOPERABLE VEHICLE THOMAS P. EUGENE 9595 N. W. 2nd AVE. As reported by Mr. LuBien, the vehicle has been: removed,".hiitttihe Administrative fee of $110.00 has not been paid. 6. ELECTION OF CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN Dr. James nominated Mr. Grau as Chairman, seconded by Mr..Stokesberry. A motion was made, and seconded to:close nomination, -and Mr. Graze was unanimously elected Chairman. Mr. Grau nominated Mr. Asmus, Vice Chairman, seconded :by Mr. Stokesberry. Motion was made and seconded to close nomination, -and -Mr. Asmus was elected Vice Chairman, unanimously.
