COUNCIL WORKSHOP
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2015
The Miami Shores Village Council held a Council Workshop on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at 6:30 PM
in the Council Chambers of Village Hall. The general purpose of the meeting was for the Council to hear
status updates on numerous ongoing projects and for the Council to discuss priorities for upcoming Council
Meetings.
Police Chief Kevin Lystad was presented with awards recognizing the Village's Alarm Management
Excellence.
Updates were provided by Mr. Benton on the following topics:
2nd Avenue Water & Sewer project
Annexation
Bayfront Park railing
Community Center project
RFQ NE 2nd Avenue Design/ Parking
RFQ Traffic Study
RFQ Computer purchase
Library addition progress
Tidal flooding remediation
Code Compliance — major challenges & landscaping ordinance
Police and Public Works Staff
Trainings: CLEO and YES
Doctors Charter School Lease Agreement renegotiation
Following the updates, Council Members discussed topics for upcoming agenda scheduling, specifically
citing the mobility study proposed safety improvements, the term limit ordinances, education compacts and
a resident budget workshop.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Residents Patrice Gillespie -Smith, Elizabeth Cowen, Mary Benton, Steven Mumby, Dennis Leyva and
Clark Reynolds spoke on the various topics discussed throughout the Workshop.
COUNCIL COMMENT:
• Council Members offered brief comments regarding the workshop and the recent Unity Ball and Good
Neighbor Breakfast.
• The November 17, 2015 Council Workshop was adjourned at 9:10 PM.
