REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
The Miami Shores Village Council held their regularly scheduled Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 in
the Council Chambers of Village Hall. Mayor Davis called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM with the following
individuals present:

CONSIDERATIONS
1) VILLAGE CLERK Barbara A. Estep
A) APPROVAL OF THE JUNE 16, 2009 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES.
Mr. Loffredo moved approval of the June 16, 2009 Council Meeting Minutes as presented. Mr. Herrera
seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.
2) VILLAGE MANAGER Tom Benton
A) APPROVAL OF THE EMERGENCY DEBRIS DISPOSAL MONITORING SELECTION
COMMITTEE'S RANKINGS AND AUTHORIZATION TO NEGOTIATE WITH THE TOP
RANKED FIRM.

Mr. Benton offered background information regarding the item, indicating that the contracted firm would be
monitoring the disposal of hurricane debris, including checking incoming and outgoing truck loads, measuring
cubic footage in the trucks, ensuring proper monitoring paperwork is completed, etc. Mr. Benton confirmed that
the requirement for a debris monitoring consultant is a new FEMA regulation and that the Village had not
contracted for this service in the past. Mrs. Holly moved to approve the Selection Committee's rankings and
authorize negotiations. Mr. Herrera seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor of the motion.

5) COUNCIL COMMENTS
Prospero Herrera Mr. Herrera thanked the Recreation Department for the July 4th Fireworks.
Donald Shockey No comment.
Herta Holly Mrs. Holly reminded residents that it is Hurricane season and the need to be prepared.
Steve Loffredo Mr. Loffredo also thanked the Village for the firework display and also spoke of the
111 upcoming Budget Workshop to be held on July 14th at the Community Center.
Al Davis No comment.

The July 7, 2009 Council Meeting was adjourned at 7:37 PM.
