09-17-2002 Budget Hearing Meeting• • MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE BUDGET HEARING — FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 The Miami Shores Village Council held the second and final public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Budget on Tuesday, September 17, 2002 at the Village Hall. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 Pm with the following members present: PRESENT: Mayor Davis Greg Ullman Bob Blum Prospero Herrera ALSO PRESENT: Tom Benton, Village Manager Barbara Fugazzi, Village Clerk Richard Sarafan, Village Attorney ABSENT: Mark Ulmer Ms. Fugaz7i indicated that the meeting represented the second the final public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Budget and tax levies. She further stated that the advertisements noticed in the Miami Herald were in compliance with the Truth-in-millage regulations. Mr. Benton presented information regarding the tax levies of 7.7500, representing a 5.108% increase over the rolled back rate of 7.3733 mills for general operating purposes. A mill rate of 0.5151, the same as last year, is levied for the voter approved, debt -service tax. The Village's Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Operating Budget total is $17,566,561. A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL, MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA ESTABLISHING FINAL AD VALOREM TAX LEVIES FOR GENERAL OPERATING AND VOTER -APPROVED DEBT SERVICE PURPOSES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2002; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The Clerk read the caption of the Resolution. Mr. Blum moved to adopt the tax levies of 75.7500 and 0.5151 for general operating and debt service purposes respectively. Mr. Herrera seconded the motion. Mayor Davis opened the floor for the Public Hearing. As no one present wished to comment on the proposed tax levies, Mayor Davis closed the Public Hearing and called for a vote. The resulting vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. The Clerk read the caption of the Resolution. Mr. Blum moved to adopt the Fiscal Year 2002-2003 Operating and Debt -Service Budgets as presented. Mr. Herrera seconded the motion. Mayor Davis opened the floor for the Public Hearing. As no one in the audience wished to comment on the proposed budgets, Mayor Davis closed the Public Hearing and called for a vote.
