01-15-2002 Regular Meeting• • MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING The regularly scheduled meeting of the Village Council was held on Tuesday, January 15, 2002 at the Village Hall commencing at 7:30 PM with the following members present: PRESENT: Mayor Davis Greg Ullman Bob Blum Prospero Herrera Mark Ulmer ALSO PRESENT: Tom Benton, Village Manager Richard Sarafan, Village Attorney Elizabeth Keeley, Recording Secretary CONSIDERATIONS 1) CONSENT AGENDA Barbara Fugazzi A) APPROVAL OF THE JANUARY 2, 2002 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES. B) AWARD OF BID ON THE VILLAGE HALL ROOFING PROJECT TO OBENOUR ROOFING IN THE AMOUNT 0 F $73,925.00. Mr. Ullman moved to approve the consent agenda as presented. Mr. Herrera seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor. 2) VILLAGE COUNCIL Greg Ullman A) DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING THE SHORES PERFORMING ARTS THEATER. Mr. Ullman sponsor of the item, asked that the item be removed from this agenda and moved for consideration at the next Council meeting. Due to the considerable questions regarding the viability and the future success of the Shores Performing Arts Theater, Mr. Ullman asked that a clear comprehensive business plan be provided by the Theater staff showing the Theater's prospects for survival and growth for the next three to five years. 3) ANNOUNCEMENTS The clerk read the announcements. • 4) PUBLIC COMMENTS Carol Schafineister Ms. Schafmeister noted that she was in the process of preparing the requested documents regarding the Theater. She asked that any Council member wishing additional information to please advise the Theater staff so the information could be presented at the next meeting. Doreen Lasch Candy Rengstl Ms. Lasch presented herself as the acting attorney for the Theater Board and offered further assistance if there is a need. Ms. Rengstl spoke of the upcoming Theater fund raiser featuring the Bellamy Brothers. 5) COUNCIL COMMENTS Mr. Herrera No comment Mr. Ullman Encouraged attendance at the Theater fundraiser.
