09-18-2001 Budget Workshop Meeting• • • MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE BUDGET HEARING - FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002 The Miami Shores Village Council held the second and final public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2001- 2002 Budget on Tuesday, September 18, 2001 at the Village Hall commencing at 7:00 PM with the following members present: PRESENT: Mayor Davis Greg Ullman Bob Blum Prospero Herrera ALSO PRESENT: Tom Benton, Village Manager Barbara Fugazzi, Village Clerk Richard Sarafan, Village Attorney ABSENT: Mark Ulmer Ms. Fugazzi stated that this meeting represented the second and fmal public hearing on the Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budget and tax levies. She further stated that the advertisements noticed in the Miami Herald were in compliance with the Truth-in-millage regulations. Ms. Fugazzi presented information regarding the tax levies of 8.0000, representing a 2.94% increase over the rolled back rate of 7.7177 mills for general operating purposes. A mill rate of 0.5151, the same as last year, is levied for the voter approved, debt service tax. The Village's Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Operating Budgets total $15,192,890. Mayor Davis opened the public hearing and as there was no one in the audience who wished to speak or comment on either the proposed budgets or millage rates, Mayor Davis closed the public hearing. A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL, MIAMI SHORES, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING FINAL AD VALOREM TAX LEVIES FOR GENERAL OPERATING AND VOTER - APPROVED DEBT SERVICE PURPOSES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2001; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The Clerk read the caption of the Resolution. Mr. Blum moved adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Herrera seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor. A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL, MIAMI SHORES FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE FISCAL YEAR 2001-2002 OPERATING AND DEBT SERVICE BUDGETS; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The Clerk read the caption of the Resolution. Mr. Blum moved adoption of the Resolution. Mr. Herrera seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor.
