MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
BUDGET HEARING - FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000
The second and final Fiscal Year 1999-2000 Budget Public Hearing was held on Tuesday,
September 21, 1999 at the Village Hall, commencing at 6:35 PM with the following members
present:

The Village Clerk read into the Record, an official statement regarding the typographical error
contained within the Notice of Budget Hearing advertisement originally published on Thursday,
September 16, 1999. The Notice was re -advertised on Sunday, September 19, 1999, which falls
within the Statuary requirements for noticing the Budget Hearing.
1) PRESENTATION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000 GENERAL FUND AND
CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND BUDGETS.
Mayor Ulmer stated that the Council is being asked to consider two resolutions: the first levies
the final millage rates for operating and debt service and the second resolution adopts the
operating and capital budgets for FY 1999-2000.
The final tax levy for operating purposes is 8.3627 mills or an amount equal to the rolled -back
rate. Also, the resolution adopts the necessary millage levy for voter -approved debt of 0.6065
mills.
2) A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE,
FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE FINAL LEVY OF AD VALOREM TAXES FOR
GENERAL OPERATING PURPOSES AND VOTER -APPROVED DEBT SERVICE
MILLAGES FOR MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999-2000;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Village Clerk read the Caption of the Resolution. Mr. Davis moved adoption. Ms. Agosta
seconded the motion. Mayor Ulmer opened the floor for Public Comment. As there was no one
present who wished to speak regarding the proposed tax levies, Mayor Ulmer closed the Public
Comment portion of the Meeting. A vote of the Village Council was taken and the results were
unanimous in favor of adopting the Resolution.
Mayor Ulmer indicated that the second resolution adopts the FY 1999-2000 operating and capital
• budgets for all funds, totaling $15,269,397 of which $7,577,802 and $221,006 represent the
budgets for the general and voter approved debt service funds.
3) A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE,
FLORIDA, ADOPTING THE FINAL GENERAL, DEBT SERVICE, ENTERPRISE,
INTERNAL SERVICE AND SPECIAL REVENUE FUND BUDGETS FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1999 AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,
2000; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Clerk read the Caption of the Resolution. Mr. Loffredo moved to adopt the Resolution and
Mr. Blum seconded the motion. Mayor Ulmer asked for Public Comment on the presented FY
1999-2000 Budgets. As no one in attendance wished to speak on the budgets, Mayor Ulmer
called for a vote of the Village Council. The results were unanimous in favor of adopting the
Resolution.
4) ADJOURNMENT.
The second and final Budget Public Hearing was adjourned at 6:39 PM.
