This letter is to advise that we recommend the following Structural modifications to the above
referenced project.
A. We recommend changing the 2"x10" rafters at 16" on center at the (walk-in closet
addition) to 2"x8" rafters at 16" on center. The reason is that there is not enough
clearance at the existing roof trusses and wood bearing plate, on the existing tie
beam.
B. We recommend attaching the 2"x8" rafter to the new tie beam with a clip angle
• (4"x4"x1/4") with 2-3/8" bolts to the rafter and 1- Kwik bolt into the tie beam.
All work will be in compliance with the requirements of the Village of Miami Shores, the
Approved Plans as well as the 2014 Florida Building Code.
