FINAL BUDGET HEARING
TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 1996
The second and final budget hearing was held in the Council Chambers of Village Hall on
Tuesday, September 17, 1996, commencing at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present:

PRESENTATION AND DISCUSSION OF FISCAL YEAR 1997 GENERAL FUND AND
CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND BUDGETS.
Mayor Imburgia stated that in accordance with Florida Statute 200.065 (2)(e)1, the first
substantive issue discussed shall be the percentage increase in millage over the rolled -back rate
necessary to fund the FY 1996-97 budget. For fiscal year 1996-97, Miami Shores Village is
considering to levy a millage rate of 8.74 which is 4.43% increase over the roll -back rate of
8.369. The Council has tentatively adopted a General Fund Budget of $8,310,633 and a Capital
Project Fund Budget of $603,158. Mayor Imburgia entertained discussion from the Council and
from the public regarding the tentative millage rate and proposed General Fund Budget and
Capital Project Fund Budget.
Mrs. Ross Agosta recommended and subsequently moved to transfer $500.00 from the
Contingency Fund to fund the Dade Partners Program for the Miami Shores Elementary School.
Mr. Heffernan seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor. There were no further
Council comments nor public comment in reference to the proposed millage rate or budgets.
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FINAL MILLAGE RATE FOR 1996 TAX LEVY OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE.
The Clerk read the caption of the Resolution. Mr. Sastre moved to adopt the Resolution adopting
the final millage rate for the 1996 tax levy. Mr. Heffernan seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous in favor.
AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE ANNUAL BUDGETS FOR
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1996, ADOPTED ON AN EMERGENCY BASIS.
The Clerk read the caption of the Ordinance. Mr. Sastre moved to adopt the Ordinance. Mrs.
Ross Agosta seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous in favor.
