A special meeting of the Village Council was held on September

of holding the final hearing on the 1981-82 budget, as prescribed by law.

Mr. 0. Sam Ackley, Village Manager, and Mr. William F. Fann, Jr.,

millage rate of 6.07 would increase the Village taxes by approximately 5%.
As there were no comments from the floor Mayor Lodge asked that the
resolution be read establishing this rate. Mr. Everett then moved that the
resolution setting the 1981 rate rate at 6.07 be adopted as read. The
motion was seconded by Mr. Spahn and the following titled resolution was
unanimously passed and adopted:
RESOLUTION NO. 719-81
A RESOLUTION FIXING THE 1981 TAX LEVY OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE
The ordinance to adopt the 1981-82 budget was then read and
moved for approval by Mrs. Jensen and seconded by Mr. Everett. In discussion
Mr. McIntosh asked the Council to give consideration to increasing the
contingency allocation, which he felt was too small, by reducing the fund
balance. It was agreed to add $50,000.00 to the Contingency Fund. Mr.
