05-26-1977 Pre-Construction MeetingPRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING - MIAMI AVENUE
May 26, 1977 - 3:00 p.m.
Mr. Earl Andersen, Village Manager, scheduled a meeting for
discussion of the Miami Avenue re -construction with representatives of the
Metro Public Works Department and the residents along that street, which
was held on Thursday, May 26, 1977, 3:00 p.m., in the Village Hall Council
chamber.
Mr. Walter Herndon, Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department,
with other members of his office, reviewed thelplans'for Miami Avenue,
including the widening, drainage, curbing, new lighting and landscaping.
This project of upgrading and reconstruction of North Miami Avenue from
79th Street to 167th Street is part of the Decade of Progress Bond Issue
approved by the electroate in November, 1972. It was reported that the
present schedule for Stage I (79th Street to 105th Street) is to begin con-
struction in October, 1977. The schedule for Stage II (105th Street to
119th Street) is to begin construction in November, 1977.

Mr. Walter Herndon, Chief Engineer of the Metro Dade County
Public Works Department, will be present at a meeting to be held
on
Thursday, May 26, 1977, 3:00 p.m.
in the Village Hall Council Room,
10050 N. E. 2nd Avenue,
for the purpose of advising all parties concerned of the plans for
the reconstruction of Miami Avenue through Miami Shores. This
report will include proposed widening, drainage, curbing, new
lighting, landscaping, as well as, construction schedule.
