COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Monday, February 2, 1976

Acting Village Manager, Ann Vigneron
The Village Attorney was present to discuss:
(a) Legal aspects of a street closing that were brought
up in the public hearing of January 27, 1976, on the
closing of Park Drive. Mr. Lund confirmed that it is
the decision of the Council to close a street. He also
advised that where a property owner's street access is
lost through closing of a street, that person can bring
a suit for damages.
Four more letters were received from affected property
owners opposing the closing of Park Drive. They were
from: Dr. Eng, A. Vitucci, Lois Baxter and Dr. Ralph
E. Baxter.
(b) Claim against the Country Club from the Singles
Group. Mr. Lund reported that the attorney from this
Group claimed that the former Village Manager, Mr.
Peace, had stated that the Village would be willing to pay
all expenses incurred. Mr. Moranetz stated that no
figures were mentioned in the discussions with the
former Village Manager. The Council asked the Village
Attorney to negotiate with the attorney for a lower
s ettlement.
The Council discussed the City Manager applications, 12 of which had been
received to date. Mr. Claussen suggested that Mr. Petrey be considered
for the position. Mr. Davis reported that he had talked with Mr. Petrey
who felt he would rather stay in recreation.
