Paul Pothin, labor negotiator
This meeting was called for the purpose of discussing the Findings and
Award made by James J. Sherman, Special Master, in the case of the P.B.A.
labor negotiations.
Mr. Pothin reported that the Award was in favor of the Village on all
seven points under consideration which were 1. education assistance,
2. sick leave, 3. insurance, 4. shift differential, 5. pension, 6. duration,
7. wage rate.
Mr. Pothin recommended to the Council that a last offer be made to sign
a contract with a 5% wage increase and two holidays. The Council
informally agreed to this recommendation. Mr. Pothin will write up the
contract for presentation.
The Mayor pointed out a new benefit on the pension plan, that of receiving
3% interest on money withdrawn from the plan.
Mr. Pothin's fee had already received approval up to $2,000.000
The meeting adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
