08-07-1975 Work Session (2)8/7/75
COUNCIL WORK SESSION on 1975-76 Budget (Country Club)
Thursday, August 7, 1975
7:00 p.m., Village Hall
In attendance: Mayor McIntosh, Councilmen Condit, McLeod & Davis
Richard Lund, Village Attorney
David Peace, Village Manager
James Glaid, Finance Director
Morris Moranetz, Club Manager
John Cusano, Golf Pro
A plan for operating the Country Club as a private club to Miami Shores
residents was proposed by Councilman Jon McLeod, substantially as
follows:
1. Give everyone in the Shores an I. D. card to the
Country Club for club house privileges (suggested
fee $10.00).
2. Require an "activities fee" of $200. 00 to use golf,
tennis or pool with daily fees at half rate.
Based on same number of uses as last year this would bring
in sufficient revenue, with other estimated income to balance
the 75-76 budget.
Mr. Condit argued that the number of uses would decrease if the regular
golfers had to pay every time they played. Under this plan family golfing
could increase by $400 to $500 a year. No decision was reached on
whether or not this plan was practical or could be sold.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:10 p.m.
