07-29-1975 Work Session 7/29/75 COUNCIL WORK SESSION on Police Labor Negotiations Tuesday, July 29, 1975 5:00 p.m. , Village Hall In attendance: Mayor McIntosh, Councilmen Condit, Davis, McLeod Paul Pothin, labor negotiator David Peace, Village Manager James Glaid, Finance Director Chief Fletcher Chief Fletcher reviewed his proposed reorganization of the Police Dept. including the establishment of two Lieutenants, - a Detective Bureau Lieutenant and a Patrol Lieutenant. The Council was in general agreement with the new organizational chart. Concerning the P. B.A. , Mr. Paul Pothi.n recapped the economic demands: 1. Holidays. 2. Retirement. 3. Uniforms. 4. Hospitalization and group insurance. (1) holidays - tentatively agreed: 9 fixed holidays, + birthday, + 2 floaters. (2) retirement - tentatively agreed: pay increase and no change to State plan. No accumulated sick leave on retirement. (3) uniforms - tentatively agreed: increase current allowance for detectives $200. 00 a year total cost. (4) hospitalization - pending proposals from Insurance Committee. It was requested that the Insurance Committee and Attorney investigate insurance coverage on overtime or contractual jobs.
