COUNCIL WORK SESSION
Wednesday, May 28, 1975, at 4:00 p.m. , at the Village Hall
In attendance: Mayor McIntosh, Councilmen Claussen, Condit,
Davis and McLeod
Village Manager
Mr. Gordon Boulton and Mr. Duke Reynolds of the
Village Insurance Advisory Board
Mayor McIntosh opened the meeting and stated that it had been called for the
purpose of meeting with the Village Insurance Advisory Committee so that
the Council can be advised of how they have been operating.
The following items were brought out in the report by Mr. Boulton, Chairman
of the Committee:
Travelers Insurance Co. has all liability, property and casualty
insurance. Renewal date - October 1, 1975.
Workmen's Compensation is self-insured thru Dade County
Insurance Dept.
The Group Hospitalization is with Home Life, renewable October 1,
1975.
It was suggested that the Village could self insure on some fire
insurance; that the electric carts could have a $100. 00 deductible
which: should be guaranteed by the player; and that the umbrella
excess coverage could be increased.
The Committee will give the Council a year-end report and renewal estimates
by August 1st for budget purposes.
The Mayor asked about bonding employees and it was reported that the blanket
position bond was the best available. However, it was agreed that bonding
forms could be filled out by individual employees.
Mr. Boulton asked that Fran Everett be considered to fill the vacancy on the
committee. This appointment is to be made in July.
It was requested that figures be secured on increased hospital daily rates and
medical expenses.
The meeting adjourned at 5:45 p.m.
