04-28-1975 Work Session COUNCIL WORK SESSION Monday, April 28, 1975, at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall In attendance: Mayor McIntosh, Councilmen Condit, Davis, McLeod and Claussen Village Attorney Richard M. Lund Chief Fletcher, Jim Glaid, Bill Bradford, Country Club Management Committee members Roy Abagnale, Lawton McCall and other interested citizens Mayor McIntosh called the meeting to order and the following items of ibusiness were discussed: (1) Interim appointment for Planning Board vacancy. Names proposed: Albert Toussaint, Ken Greenblat. (2) Ordinance revisions and updating by Village Attorney re Planning & Zoning Board request - pending Planning Board action. (3) Chamber of Commerce sludge line resolution - no action required, Village resolution passed prior to this. (4) Wheelchair ramps to Village Hall and Library. The Building Inspector will present estimates of cost, as well as, rebuild- ing toilet facilities at the Recreation Center. Councilman Davis will work with Mr. Bradford on this. (5) Mandel alley - Mr. Lund reported that Mr. Mandel wants a 3 - 5 yr. agreement. Mr. Lund will determine time limit for Council consideration. (6) Items brought up by Councilmen: Mr. McLeod discussed setting up some type of agreement in Sgt. Wiley's case (auto inspection merger) that would cover cnntingencies of his employment if he is contracted to the County. The Village Attorney will present some suggestions at the next meeting. Representative for Dade League of Cities - to be named at next meeting. Mr. Davis asked for a committee to work on charter review. The Village Manager will make a recommenda- tion on this at the next meeting. Council Work Session April 28, 1975 Page 2. (7) Country Club Committee report - Mr. Abagnale reported on how the committee has been working to get costs in line with income. He stated that within the next two or three weeks they will have final recommendations. Mr. Claussen stated that he would like to see the Finance Director transfer back to the Club, the $25, 000 he recently paid to the Village. A work shop meeting was set for May 23rd at 7:00 p.m. for the next Country Club Committee report. It was requested that the applications for Country Club Manager be screened as soon as possible. Mayor McIntosh asked the Council independently to make notes as to what the duties and responsibilities of a professional country club manager are. (8) Bids on Tennis Club practice wall - Mayor McIntosh told Mr. Willenborg these would be opened at the next meeting.
