01-30-1975 Joint and Planning and Zoning Meeting JOINT MEETING
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL
and
PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD
January 30, 1975
At the request of the Village Council a joint meeting was held with
the Planning and Zoning Board on Thursday, January 30, 1975, 7:30 p. m. ,
at the Village Hall, with the following in attendance:
Council: Mayor James W. Condit
Elwood Jones
Harry F. Smenner, Jr.
Planning Board: Chairman Fred Astor
Kenneth Phoenix
Donald W. McIntosh
The Village Manager David Peace, the Village Attorney Richard
Lund and the Building & Zoning Director were present.
Chairman Fred Astor stated that the Board has been working on
revisions to the zoning ordinance and were now ready for assistance from
our Village Attorney in re-wording the amendments. Mr. Astor stated that
the following subjects were being reviewed:
1. 50 ft. lots.
2. Limiting zoning hearings on any one piece of property.
3. Condominiums, town houses and uniform enforcement.
4. Signs, parking, landscaping and trailers.
5. Non-conforming buildings.
6. Fences.
7. Private schools and churches.
After further discussion of enforcement and a method of informing
property owners of Village regulations, the Council informally approved of
the Board going ahead with this project with the assistance of the Village
Attorney at a cost not to exceed $1, 000. 00. This will be put on the agenda of
the next Council meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 8:40 p. m.
