Police Budget - Under Personel Services, Chief Fletcher explained
the need for a civilian employee to relieve the officers of non-policing
duties. The Car Repair account was lowered by $1, 000 because of the
purchase of new cars, and the Gas, Oil & Tires account increased by

negotiations with the P. B.A. as bargaining agent.
All proposed salaries in the Police and Fire budgets were figured on
a 15% increase. Salaries in the Inspection Station were increased by
10%.
Chief Fletcher discussed the Inspection Station revenue tapering off and
increased costs of operation. He was of the opinion that the station
should be phased out.
Henry Boliek's budgets were discussed with few changes made. The Council
approved a 10% raise for all his employees, including the mechanics.
In the Parks Dept. the tree trimming truck payment was changed to
$8, 000 on a three-annual payments basis. Under the Streets Budget the
cost of street lights was increased to $60, 000 and the Street Drainage
account increased to $5, 000. In the Waste Department the Gas, Oil &
Tires account was increased.
Councilman Claussen discussed the possibility of voting to give up the
Fire Department in the current budget if he could get the County to hold
the appropriation beyond the July 23, 1974 deadline.
The meeting adjourned at 10:35 p.m.
