02-12-1974 Special Meeting SPECIAL MEETING MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL February 12, 1974 A special meeting of the Miami Shores Village Council was called by Mayor Condit on February 12, 1974, at 7:30 p.m. , at the Village Hall with the following Councilmen present: Mayor James W. Condit Dean. R. Claussen Elwood Jones Absent: Raymond L. Clement Harry F. Smenner, Jr. Also in attendance were: Mr. John W. McIntyre, Village Manager, Mr. Thomas H. Anderson, Village Attorney, Mr. Jim Glaid, Finance Director, Mr. Hal Petrey, Recreation Director, and Mr. Henry Boliek, Maintenance Superintendent. The Mayor stated the purpose of the meeting is to find out in what direction we can proceed with regard to the Fire Department. The Village Manager had prepared estimates of budgetary needs for the year 1974-75 and discussed the department heads their projected capital expenditures. As a result of this discussion it was agreed to send the letter requested by the County Manager to reopen negotiations on the County taking over the Fire Department. The Village Attorney brought up the subject of the 95th Street right- of-way agreement with Bessemer Properties that the Presbyterian Church would like the Village to terminate. The Council agreed that they should get back the property and instructed Mr. Anderson to write a resolution to acquire the street to have it available for public use. Other items discussed: Definition of "Family" in the Zoning Ordinance. Landscaping for N. W. 109th Street. 2/12' 74 -2- Securing new contracts on air conditioning service this year. Use of a permit for travel trailers providing they meet certain conditions, or permitting 26 ft. trailers. Mayor Condit discussed the possibility of holding a town meeting to report to the Villagers the budget needs for the coming year. The meeting adjourned at 9:45 p. m. Village Clerk APPROVED: May?
